Digestive enzyme production has to develop, the bacterial population in intestine changes and the size of the intestine is increasing rapidly. All this can result in a sub-optimal digestion that leaves a substantial part of the feed undigested. This undigested feed makes an excellent growth substrate for pathogenic bacteria like Salmonella and E. coli. Daacid has a strong acidifying effect in the stomach. Because Daacid already reduces the buffer capacity of the feed, Daacid will maintain its acidifying abilities in the stomach. This way, Daacid will achieve a fast reduction of the pH value in the stomach, creating an optimal environment for digestion of proteins.
