Daacid
Daacid has a strong acidifying effect in the stomach. For optimal protein digestion the pH in the stomach needs to be around 3. Because Daacid already reduces the buffer capacity of the feed, Daacid will maintain its acidifying abilities in the stomach. This way, Daacid will achieve a fast reduction of the pH value in the stomach, creating an optimal environment for digestion of proteins. Furthermore will Daacid lower the pH in the stomach of the animal to approximately 3 which prevents the growth of pathogenic bacteria like E.-Coli and Salmonella.

Within the gastro-intestinal tract the pancreas will react to the Daacid when it enters the small intestine. It will excrete more pancreatic juices to neutralize the acid substrate entering from the stomach. The increased production of pancreatic juices will lead to a higher availability of digestive enzymes. This improves digestion of nutrients, resulting in less substrate for pathogenic bacteria to grow on and better feed utilization.

Pancreatic juices that neutralize the acid substrate, make it impossible to lower the pH value in the small intestine of the animals. Therefore, acids are not capable of preventing the growth of bacteria in the small intestine by lowering the pH value. That is why Daacid contains acids that can penetrate the cell walls of Entero bacteria. Once inside, the bacteria will spend all its energy trying to neutralize the acid and it will die from exhaustion.
